📝 Leave Management System

A web-based Leave Management System built using PHP and MySQL, designed to streamline the leave application and approval process within an organization.

This project was developed as part of a DBMS mini project and demonstrates complete CRUD operations, role-based access control, and data visualization for employee leave tracking.

🛠️ Installation Guide

📍 Prerequisites:

• XAMPP installed and running
• PHP 7+ and MySQL (comes with XAMPP)

🧱 Steps to Run Locally:

1. Clone or download this repository.

2. Move the folder into: C:\xampp\htdocs\

3. Open phpMyAdmin.

4. Create a database: leave management

5. Import the SQL file: database/leave_management.sql

6. Start Apache and MySQL in XAMPP.

7. Access the project in your browser: http://localhost/Leave_Management_System/

• users(id, name, email, password, role, department_id)
• departments(id, name)
• leave_applications(id, user_id, type, start_date, end_date, reason, status)

🧩 Relationships:

• users.department_id → departments.id
• leave_applications.user_id → users.id
