Chunking Express

A module to process large videos on the client and retrieve arbitrary fragments

How this repo is organized

server

This is a mock flask server that is designed to mimick a video processing service. It has a /process endpoint.
All it does is receive an MP4 video, and returns a grayscale version of the same video. Requires ffmpeg running.

Running the server:

pip install -r requirements.txt
python app.py

This should run an app at localhost:5001

client

An early prototype of the client code written in vanilla javascript

node server.js

This should run the app at localhost:3000. The client is hardcoded to talk to localhost:5001 for the /process endpoint

chunking-express (most updated)

This contains the same code as client but wrapped as a typescript library module. This relies on a vite build system. To run this:

npm install
npm run dev

This should run an app at localhost:3000 and function pretty much the same way as the "legacy" client
