fix(headless): clean up temporary user data directories on exit (#1934) - #1970
Headless runs were leaving katana-chrome-data-* temporary folders in the temp directory. This occurred because:
b.Browser.Close() sends a DevTools Browser.close command and closes the connection, but the Chrome process takes time to asynchronously flush SQLite databases (Default/Affiliation Database, etc.) and release its file locks. An immediate single os.RemoveAll fails with an in-use file lock error on Windows and other platforms, which was ignored.
In headless.Close() (called on normal runner shutdown and upon signal interception such as Ctrl+C), active headless crawlers and checked-out browser instances were not tracked or closed.
Changes
Stored *launcher.Launcher on BrowserPage to ensure chromeLauncher.Kill() can be invoked if Chrome does not terminate promptly on Browser.Close().
Implemented removeDirWithRetry to retry os.RemoveAll until file locks are released by the exiting process.
Tracked active temporary directories and BrowserPage instances in Launcher, ensuring checked-out pages and stray directories are reliably cleaned up in Launcher.Close().
Tracked active crawlers in Headless and invoked their Close() methods in Headless.Close().
Added unit tests in pkg/engine/headless/browser/browser_test.go verifying cleanup of tracked temporary directories while preserving user-supplied UserDataDir.
…ectdiscovery#1934)
Headless runs leaving katana-chrome-data-* temp directories due to asynchronous Chrome process file locks and lack of crawler cleanup on exit are now tracked, killed on close, and safely removed with retry.

Walkthrough
The headless browser launcher now tracks pages and temporary profile directories, closes tracked resources, and removes temporary directories while preserving configured user data. Headless tracks active crawlers and closes them during shutdown.
Changes
Headless resource cleanup
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Track and release browser page resources pkg/engine/headless/browser/browser.go
Browser page creation retains the Chrome launcher handle and tracks pages and temporary directories. Failure and page-close paths clean up browser processes and non-preserved profile directories.
Clean up launcher resources on shutdown pkg/engine/headless/browser/browser.go, pkg/engine/headless/browser/browser_test.go
Launcher shutdown closes tracked pages and removes tracked temporary directories, except the configured user data directory. Tests cover directory cleanup and preservation.
Track and close active crawlers pkg/engine/headless/headless.go
Headless registers crawlers during Crawl and closes registered crawlers during shutdown.
Stopping a headless run with Ctrl+C can still panic or exit before browser and temp-directory cleanup finishes, so the leftover katana-chrome-data folders this PR is meant to remove can still appear. Make the launcher close idempotent, coordinate shutdown with active crawl workers, and close the registry gaps before merging.

Explanation
The title "fix(headless): clean up temporary user data directories on exit (#1934)" matches the main change. The PR tracks temporary katana-chrome-data-* directories and removes them when the headless run exits, which the raw summary confirms in browser.go and headless.go. The title names the fix, the affected package, and the linked issue. It does not mention the supporting changes, such as killing hung Chrome processes or closing active crawlers, but the task does not require full coverage.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue [#1934] requires cleanup of temporary katana-chrome-data-* directories, including shutdown after interruption. Launcher tracks temporary directories and active BrowserPage instances. CloseBrowserPage closes the browser, kills the locally launched Chrome process, and retries directory removal for up to three seconds. Headless tracks active crawlers and closes them from Headless.Close(). The added tests cover tracked directory removal, user directory preservation, and page cleanup.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes stay within issue [#1934]. Launcher tracking, Chrome termination, retry-based removal, active crawler shutdown, and the cleanup tests directly support reliable temporary-directory cleanup. No unrelated behavior is demonstrated.

Clean up Chrome and the temp directory when browser.Page fails.
The early return at line 497 runs before the cleanup defer is registered at line 501. If browser.Page fails, Chrome from launchBrowserWithDataDir is not closed or killed. The failed browser is also not in l.pages, so later cleanup does not reach it. The Chrome process can remain running after the error is returned.
Register the cleanup defer before browser.Page, and guard page against nil inside the defer.

When Headless.Close runs while Crawl is finishing, Headless.Close and Crawl's deferred cleanup can both call the same Crawler.Close. The second call reaches close(l.browserPool) and can panic with close of closed channel.

The signal handler closes the runner and then exits without waiting for crawl workers. Headless.Close can snapshot activeCrawlers before a worker registers. CrawlerOptions.Close does not cancel the crawl context, so that worker can register afterward and create a katana-chrome-data-* directory or launch Chrome after the snapshot. The process can then exit before the worker’s deferred cleanup runs.
Set a closing flag under h.mu before taking the snapshot. Reject late registrations and close any crawler that was constructed while shutdown was starting.

Wait for in-flight crawler cleanup without double-closing the launcher.
Headless.Close does not wait for a Crawl defer that is already cleaning up. If it snapshots after the deletion and before headlessCrawler.Close() returns, it can miss that crawler. The signal handler can then call os.Exit(0) before browser or temporary-directory cleanup completes.
Keep the crawler registered until cleanup completes, but coordinate close ownership so Headless.Close and the Crawl defer cannot call Launcher.Close twice. Shutdown must wait for cleanup already in progress.

Wait for active page users before closing the launcher pool.
Headless.Close closes each registered crawler without waiting for its crawl workers. Crawler.Close calls Launcher.Close, which runs close(l.browserPool). A worker that still holds a page then reaches its deferred PutBrowserToPool, and every branch of that function sends to the pool. A send on a closed channel panics. This can happen during shutdown while crawls are active.
The panic can also stop the temporary directory cleanup this PR adds. Launcher.Close closes the pool before it removes the directories.
Cancelling the crawl does not prevent the panic, because the deferred put still runs. Making Crawler.Close idempotent does not prevent it either. Coordinate the shutdown so that Launcher.Close runs only after the page users have returned their pages, or so that Headless.Close waits for the crawl goroutines to exit before it closes the crawlers.
