Selecting two groups and aligning their centers used to align every child separately, collapsing the layouts inside them. Alignment and distribution now preserve explicitly selected groups as units while allowing directly selected children—including mixed selections across groups—to align independently.
A single child or nested group can align to its immediate parent’s current bounds. The inspector, quick controls, context menu, and command palette share the same availability rules. Selection hierarchy survives undo, redo, duplication, and canceled gestures.
Validation: lint, typecheck, all 26 test suites, agent tests, production build, and offline webxdc package passed. Browser checks cover group clicks, deep additive selections, all-child selections, marquee, parent controls, and undo. Figma research and scope are documented in docs/alignment.md; Shift-click parent alignment and fixed frames are outside this change.
