Allow custom links from Devices list

Hi @jokob-sk! I hope you're doing well. I have another idea for an enhancement.

Currently on Devices list, the Last IP column is a hyperlink to the IP address. In most cases, this link is not resolvable. I am wondering if this link can become configurable.

For example, I would like to be able to click it and pass the device IP to my AdGuard Home server to see what traffic has been tracked from the device. So if I clicked the Last IP for 192.168.1.1, it could take me to http://my_adguard_url/#logs?search=192.168.1.1

This URL could be configurable to suit any user's needs. And repurposing the Last IP column is not the best option, perhaps this could be a new configurable column in the Devices list.

Hey @jokob-sk - I was not aware of custom properties. Thank you for sharing. But if I am understanding this correctly, these are properties the individual device level, correct?

I'm thinking about something more global, like a column you can add to the Devices list. It would apply to all devices, rather than individually selected devices. Something like this:

I'm guessing there might be other use cases outside of viewing the query log. Maybe you could link to your lease/host page on your router for the specific device, for example.

Yes, but they are displayed in the devices list if configured so.

Please try configuring a custom property - it's pretty much what this allows you to do it. Then tick Show - it will show as a link (icon) in the device list. IF this approach works I will look into supporting wildcards, but want to make sure we are aligned first.

OK, I see. It took some trial and error, but I was able to get it to display for one device. I have it opening a new tab and linking to my AdGuard URL:

I think this could work, as long as I could pass in the {{devLastIP}} and have it automatically apply to all devices. Is there a way to have it display text rather than an icon? My personal preference would be to have it explicitly say "Query Log" (or whatever) rather than using an icon, but that's not a show stopper.

I will look at extending this to support wildcards.

BTW you should be able to configure defaults and custom icons under Settings -> NEWDEV_devCustomProps and CUSTPROP_icon for icons. I have not tested all edge cases, so there might be some bugs, but do LMK how you go if you decide to customize these settings.

It would be great if you could test the ghcr.io/netalertx/netalertx-dev-unsafe Docker image in ~15 minutes (or once the latest GitHub Action finishes).

⚠️ Please back up everything first, or ideally spin up a separate container (make sure you use a unique PORT and GRAPHQL_PORT if running instances concurrently) with its own DB and config (a copy of your current setup), as database changes may occur.

After updating:

• Click the 🔄 refresh button in the blue header at the top
• Hard refresh your browser cache (shift + reload) to force js and css files reload

👉 If I don’t receive confirmation that this works, I may revert the changes to avoid introducing bugs.

Disclaimer: Running the dev container long-term may lead to data loss, as upgrade paths are not guaranteed.

OK, I see how to add this at the global level. This seems to be working. I had to remove all of my devices, then they were re-added on the next scan with the new links. One thing I don't understand is how to use CUSTPROP_icon. Is there a way to upload an icon?
