Deployment error in Azure Web App: StaticFile Handler 0x80070002 and missing configuration guide #302

Description

@gustavolaramolina

Hello team,

I'm trying to deploy a bot using the teams.ts library to Azure Web App, but I get the following error when accessing the /api/messages endpoint:

Module: IIS Web Core
Notification: MapRequestHandler
Handler: StaticFile
Error Code: 0x80070002
Requested URL: https://bot8ca761:80/api/messages
Physical Path: C:\home\site\wwwroot\api\messages
Logon Method: Anonymous
Logon User: Anonymous

I've reviewed my configuration and the generated ARM/Bicep template, but I couldn't find any official guide on how to verify or adjust the Azure Web App configuration for bots built with teams.ts.

Steps taken:

  • Using the teams.ts repo for my bot implementation
    • Tried with:
      • teams.ts/tests/ai
      • teams.ts/tests/botbuilde
  • Generated the Azure Bicep template with the Teams CLI ATK tool (version 2.0.0-preview.9)
  • Deployed to Azure Web App
  • Endpoint configured as /api/messages
  • No static files at that path

Expected result:

  • Official guide or recommended steps to verify/configure Azure Web App for bots built with teams.ts
  • Suggestions to resolve error 0x80070002

Additional notes:

  • I couldn't find documentation for this scenario in the official docs.
  • Is there any example of a successful Azure Web App configuration for bots with teams.ts?

Thank you for your support.
