Failed step through code when native debug on Python3.10. #8660
Environment
Build of Visual Studio: 18.13.0 Canary [12319.335.main]
Build of Python Package: 18.0.26293.1
Version of Pylance: 2026.4.101
OS version: Windows 11 Enterprise, version 25H2
Steps to Reproduce
Create new Python Application, add simple Python code
Enable "Native Code Debugging" in project settings / debug page
Set breakpoint and start debugging
Hit F10 or F11
Observes
Expected behavior
In Watch/Locals debugger windows, make sure that you can switch between Python View and C++ view when inspecting at Python objects.
Additional context and screenshots
After hit F10, the debug process has exited. After hit F11, an error pops up.
In #8232: it reports the same sequence—breakpoint hit, F10 exits the process, F11 produces an error, specifically on Python 3.10. A maintainer reproduced it and then explicitly [declined to fix it]. Its resolution is NOT_PLANNED, not a completed fix. But since we are dropping support for 3.9, I think we should fix it.
