I intentionally didn't address anything to do with rubocop. It's been WAY too long and the dependency wasn't specified or locked down. Much drift and messiness. I figured this PR was better just addressing spec issues on ruby 3-4. |

Maintainership seems dead ATM. I'm hoping this PR will nudge the project along.
