This is essentially the same PR as #652 but with a couple of new pages I removed in 8a3d999.
Prior submitting this PR, I also fixed a couple of issues in the original PR so once we merge this one, we could rebase the other one and keep the new 'experimental' pages for a subsequent PR - once we have agreed/reviewed them.
