Jeff Jacobson 🍃

Backend-focused software engineer based in Boston. I work primarily in Python and Django, with experience across the full stack. I care about clean architecture, good tests, and code that's easy to reason about.

When I'm not writing code I'm playing piano or saxophone, writing tunes, or reading and thinking. I believe art is the most important thing humans do.

Currently working on some exciting fintech software at Alcove Ridge and teaching Python at Pybites, while contributing to open source and looking for my next full-time role.

things I work with

Python · Django · FastAPI · PostgreSQL · Playwright · pytest · Docker · AWS · Linux

a few things I've built

  • jazztunes — Django app for managing a jazz repertoire, with analytics and TDD throughout
  • jobsearch — Playwright-based CLI tool for automating job board searches
  • gfetch — Gmail API app for creating offline email backups
