Appeal Points

  • Clean separation of backend (NestJS) and frontend (React)
  • Timeline optimized with pagination and aggregated metadata (likeCount, isLikedByMe)
  • Simple, readable UI with optimistic updates
  • Docker-based MySQL setup for easy local testing

Implemented Features

  • User follow / unfollow
  • Timeline feed:
    • shows murmurs from followed users and self
    • pagination support
    • like / unlike with live count
  • Murmur detail page
  • User profile page:
    • follower / following counts
    • follow/unfollow
    • list of user murmurs
  • My profile page:
    • list of own murmurs
    • delete own murmurs
  • Create murmur from UI
  • REST API implemented using NestJS + TypeORM

Unimplemented Features

  • None (all required features implemented)

Impressions

  • Enjoyed working on a small social-feed style system.
  • Focused on clarity and correctness over over-engineering.
  • If extended further, authentication and authorization would be the next improvements.
