What is the Janus VR Presence Server project?

janusVR allows users to access virtual reality content through the internet. Janus VR Presence Server (this project) allows multiple users of janusVR to explore the internet-based virtual reality world ("VR Web") together. Users of janusVR can connect to a server running the Janus VR Presence Server software in order to connect with other users who are also surfing the VR Web and connected up to the same server.

Janus VR Presence Server Features

Janus VR Presence Server allows clients who have connected to the server and in the same room to:

  • See each other move around - exchange position information
  • Chat - broadcast chat messages to others who are in the same room
  • Share portals - users can see each others portals as these are created in the room
