I created python bindings for a rust implementation of the ddsketch in : https://github.com/f4hy/rddsketch
If installed lets use it, otherwise use the official python implementation. While this is faster is likely wont have significant impact in real world performance as the ddsketch is already quite fast and wont be the bottlenecks
