This adds some ease-of-use helpers to make some call sites cleaner.
There might be other cases in other commands I haven't checked yet. But this is what we currently have in a fork.
Feel free to merge this small bit. If you like, I can have a look around other commands, but I guess someone will find more by actively using different responses.
