Summary

Resubmission of #4892 — Adding DataBuff to the CNCF Landscape under Observability and Analysis → Observability.

@caniszczyk previously asked us to wait until 300+ stars. databufflabs/databuff now has 309 GitHub stars, which meets that threshold.

DataBuff is an open-source, AI-native OpenTelemetry APM platform for self-hosted deployments. It ingests OTLP traces and metrics, provides service topology and APM views, and includes multi-agent SRE investigation that walks trace trees and cites real spans.

Cloud native fit

  • OpenTelemetry-native (OTLP gRPC/HTTP ingest)
  • Docker Compose and Kubernetes install paths
  • Three-component architecture (Ingest + Doris + Web) designed for cloud-native ops teams

Category

Single box: Observability (primary). Optional second_path: AI Native Infra / Observability — reflects AI SRE agent layer on top of OTel data.

Checklist

  • Entry added in alphabetical order in landscape.yml (after Dash0, before DataSet / Datadog)
  • Logo added to hosted_logos/databuff.svg (SVG, English product name, transparent background)
  • Fits existing category (no new category requested)
  • extra.tag is a YAML sequence (tag: [observability] / list form)

Made with Cursor

now that the project has 309 GitHub stars (above the 300+ guideline).
