Plastic Shredder Machine – SolidWorks Model

SolidWorks Purpose License

Overview

A plastic shredder machine is used to reduce the size of plastic waste materials such as bottles, bags, sheets, and other plastic products. These machines are widely used in recycling operations and are designed to shred plastic into small pieces that can be more easily handled, transported, and recycled.

This repository contains a SolidWorks 3D model of a 36-blade plastic shredder machine, modeled for educational purposes.

Types of Plastic Shredder Machines

  • Single-shaft shredders – Use a rotating shaft with cutting knives; best for large, bulky plastic items.
  • Double-shaft shredders – Use two rotating shafts; more powerful, suited for heavy-duty applications.
  • Granulators – Use a rotating blade to produce uniform pellets or granules from plastic waste.
  • Hammer mills – Use hammers to grind and shred plastic into small pieces.

These machines can also be customized for specific purposes such as medical waste or e-waste processing.

Key Features of a Plastic Shredder

  • Hopper for feeding plastic material
  • Adjustable cutting mechanism for different shred sizes
  • Interchangeable screens and cutting knives
  • Safety features: emergency stop, interlocks
