Hi 👋 My name is Lucas Souza

Senior Software Engineer | Tech Lead

I'm a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead with 12+ years of experience building systems that need to stay up — high-availability APIs, distributed architectures, and the cloud infrastructure underneath them.

Currently at Infleux, I wear two hats: I lead an engineering team building Node.js/Bun APIs that handle millions of requests per day at ~99.9% uptime, and I own the AWS infrastructure behind them — EKS, RDS, ECS, Lambda, and everything in between. That second hat is where some of my favorite work happens: significant cloud cost reductions through observability pipeline redesign, a zero-downtime PostgreSQL 11→17 major upgrade using Blue/Green Deployment, and data-driven Kubernetes rightsizing instead of guesswork.

Lately, I've been deep in AI engineering — not demos, but production systems: LLM agents with multi-user memory, custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, and messaging automation that meaningfully reduces manual operations work.

Before Infleux, I spent years across the stack and across industries: leading the development of a vacation rental marketplace gateway processing up to $2M/month in bookings, building telephony systems handling 6.3M calls/month between Brazil and the U.S., delivering a bulk SMS platform pushing 12M messages/month, and starting my career administering hundreds of Linux/Windows servers at one of Brazil's largest hosting companies.

I've also founded a game server hosting company and built its management panel from scratch — twice. I like building things end to end: architecture, code, infrastructure, and the team practices that keep it all shippable.

Tech I work with daily: TypeScript/Node.js/Bun, C#/.NET, React/Next.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker.
