Removed functions implemented during GSOC 2024 and moved them into dingo-stats.

@SotirisTouliopoulos this is great work! The package looks solid and well documented. I think it would be better to be part of dingo. You can add a directory stats inside dingo's sources and add the sources there. I think that both projects (dingo and dingo-stats) will be benefited if they are merged. One repo means easier updates, testing, and docs, cutting work for contributors and simplifying dependencies.
