I’m an engineer obsessed with programming and open source; building stuff with code is my favorite hobby and I'm lucky enough to do it full time after moving from NY to SF in 2025!

I'm the author and maintainer of the popular react-shiki library, a fast and flexible Shiki powered syntax highlighter for React which provides a clean, intuitive, and type-safe API for the best possible DX. It's especially useful for AI apps where performance is essential, like highlighting code as it's output is streamed to the client from an LLM.

I’m also a Founding Engineer at assistant-ui, where we’re raising the bar for DX and UX in AI apps. It’s a powerful open source React SDK built around composable Radix-style primitives and a library of beautiful shadcn-style UI components composed of them. assistant-ui's goal is to make building complex and advanced AI apps as easy as possible -- for both humans and agents.
