Not sure if this is because it's a demo that you don't want to pay OSM for oauth fees or whatever (or if that's even a thing) but if I navigate through the demos to here: https://datasette.io/global-power-plants/global-power-plants?country_long=United+States+of+America, then I see blocked tiles at varying zoom levels.
Super cool project though! Found out about it after checking in on your blog after a long period of not checking. I like it.
