Unable to open on MacOS 26.5 (25F5053d)

I'm getting the following error: “Git Leviathan” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

This is usually a signing issue. I've checked the signature and it's Unknown/Missing?

I realize the app isn't signed. I even mention this in the README.md:

The app is not signed or notarized. The first time you launch it, macOS will block it — right-click Git Leviathan.app → Open, then confirm. After that it launches normally.

But these kinds of issues are where people like you could really help me out. I have never worked on a Mac device, so I have no idea how app distribution works. Do you have any idea how we could solve this? Does this require getting a paid developer account with Apple?

Hi Rachel,

I've tried the workaround steps in the readme but that has been disabled in a recent release as far as I know. It's now mandatory to have a paid developer account, and sign the app.

I do have a developer account, So we could do a test signing the app

Aw no, Apple being Apple I guess 😅

I was afraid of this. I wouldn't be opposed to doing a test sign, if it doesn't lock me out of maintaining the MacOS build of the software. I currently don't have the financial freedom of getting a MacOS device for myself just to wrestle with Apple's development platform on this free application.
