What would you like?
I would like the option to exclude specific folders from PureMac’s large file scan.
Users should be able to maintain a list of excluded folders, ideally through the app’s settings or directly from the large file scan interface. Files inside these folders should not appear in the scan results.
Why is this useful?
Some folders intentionally contain large files that should never be removed, such as virtual machines, development environments, media libraries, archives, or project assets.
- Reduce the risk of accidentally deleting important files.
- Make the scan results less cluttered.
- Help users identify large files that are actually relevant for cleanup.
- Avoid repeatedly reviewing the same folders during every scan.
Alternatives considered
An alternative would be to manually ignore these files each time the scan is performed. However, this becomes repetitive and increases the risk of accidentally selecting an important file.
