Currently the plugin throws an error when starting the GUI if the input mesh file does not contain any data-points.
During certain GUI actions, the plugin will attempt to use the Datapoint Coordinate Field combo-box to define the coordinate field for the marker graphics, but this value will be None if no data-points were found in the input file.
