using arraybuffer from RESTAPI, fails on decoding

I'm porting my code from msgpack to this library, and using Axios to send compressed data. msgpackr cannot handle 'arraybuffer' natively it seems and throws an error "Source must be a Uint8Array or Buffer but was a string"

Is there something I need to adjust in my code?
