Question regarding Install Referrer

This work great on Android, we get if our users create an account after they downloaded the app by clicking on an add.

How can we get this on iOS?

From what we can see, chatgpt offers this answer:

Hi,

There is no equivalent of the android install referrer as far as I'm aware. Your closest option is using universal links with a service like branch, appsflyer or firebase to track installs from a link.

Using SKAdNetwork you can't really retrieve this information in the app, instead the referral information is sent to the ad provider (eg Google) and you'll need to coordinate with them (via dashboards etc) to see the information.

How SKAdNetwork Works (High-Level)
1. User clicks an ad from a participating ad network.
2. If they install your app from the App Store, Apple attributes the install.
3. After a delay, Apple sends a postback to the ad network with the install attribution data.

Let me know if you discover anything different but this is my understanding of the situation currently.
