Like no one want to check 24/7 for updates on the gh, make an installer(universal installer. it checks for updates in gh). Or add it to choco or winget. or even scoop. I recomand winget. But brutha you do you. its just a suggestion :D. Lovin this tool. Used it a lot!

Winget's pretty easy to get going, but we need to make sure it's pointing to a good, working executable.

We could grab the ZIP from the GitHub releases. I'll check that out. From what I understand, zips are fine, but scripts aren't.

Well, honestly, you could do an web app and package it using electron and electron-builderjust for winget. Or you could make a msix.

Web apps won't make sense in this. I think the best way to package it, is using the .NET tooling or something like that. (Windows app SDK)

Yeah you're right. i didn't use .net in my life, idk about it. I am more towards web, so do not have too much experience with .net :/. But if you can compile a .net app to exe, who am I to stop you?

You can build this app with:

dotnet publish .\Winslopr\Winslopr.csproj -c Release -r win-x64 --self-contained true

The executable will be created in:

Winslopr\bin\Release\net10.0-windows10.0.19041.0\win-x64\publish\Winslopr.exe

We could use a GitHub Actions workflow to automatically publish on release. This requires pushing structured manifests to the microsoft/winget-pkgs repository, which can be done manually (many developers do this) or automatically via GitHub Actions.
