<p>
I am a Ph.D. student at Kyungpook National University (South Korea) under the supervision of Prof. Jong Soo Park (Microbial Oceanography Lab). From January to February 2026, I joined the Roger Lab as a visiting Ph.D. student, where I received training in genomics and transcriptomics.

<p>
My research focuses on halophilic protists, particularly members of the <i>Heterolobosea</i> (<i>Discoba</i>), with an emphasis on their biodiversity, mechanisms of salinity adaptation, and evolutionary history. I have reported two novel halophilic heterolobosean from Korean solar salterns and demonstrated intracellular ion accumulation patterns using ion imaging. In addition, I have conducted comparative studies of metabarcoding primer sets for assessing bacterial diversity in marine environments.
