Why use plexosdb instead of PLEXOS_NET.Core.DatabaseCore?

How is plexosdb different (or better than) from PLEXOS_NET.Core import DatabaseCore?

DatabaseCore seems to have the same capability for modifying PLEXOS .xml files. PLEXOS_NET also offers additional features not covered by plexosdb (allows execution of PLEXOS .xml files using PLEXOS Desktop, and inspection of PLEXOS solution files)

plexosdb is not associated with energy exemplar. It was designed internally at NREL to interact with a plexos xml file. plexosdb does not have the capability or its in it's purpose to run plexos. It is just an alternative to visualize and add/modify the xml directly.

Thank you for the reply - was there a particular reason to build an in-house solution at NREL for modifying XML files instead of using DatabaseCore for editing the XML file?

When we build it, DatabaseCore was not working properly and required complex setup. plexosdb on the other it aims to be minimal and performant by using sqlite as a backend and also allow quick inspection! Hope this helps!
