Description
In Gizmo mode, the target cloud is being moved, which feels counter-intuitive.
The typical expectation is that we move the source to align to a fixed target.
Example in this video (starting at 4:13):
https://youtu.be/6SNvrZ2ROKg?si=nPGySeb66KEnjlPa&t=253
In this case:
- Source cloud: 550 (purple)
- Target cloud: 323 (green)
However, in Gizmo mode the green (target) cloud is moved, while the purple source remains fixed.
Since the goal is to align source → target, it would be more intuitive if:
- target stays still
- gizmo transforms the source cloud
Proposal (for discussion)
Consider swapping Gizmo behavior so that:
- target remains fixed
- source cloud is transformed
Notes
I don’t have bandwidth to address this right now due to other priorities.
