Add a CONTRIBUTORS.md with emoji-based contributor acknowledgments

Background

The repo has a CONTRIBUTING.md but no CONTRIBUTORS.md. Adding one with emoji-based acknowledgments (like all-contributors) encourages contributions by crediting everyone who helps.

Task

1. Create CONTRIBUTORS.md at the repo root
2. Add a table in all-contributors format:

3. Add instructions in CONTRIBUTING.md asking contributors to add themselves
4. Use the emoji legend from all-contributors

Future scope

Consider adding the all-contributors bot for automated management.

Expected output

A single PR with CONTRIBUTORS.md created and CONTRIBUTING.md updated.
